Mrs. Angela Thomas
Biography
Mrs. Angela Thomas, originally from Dallas, TX, graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University. In addition to her bachelor’s degree, she holds a master’s degree with a Reading Specialist certification and Principal Certification from SFA. She is a lifelong learner currently completing her Ph.D. in Educational Leadership at Liberty University.
Mrs. Thomas began her teaching career in 2011 as a 4th-grade teacher in Round Rock, TX. She then spent several years as a 5th-grade teacher and Instructional Coach in Frisco, TX, where she served as a Team Leader and member of the Campus Improvement Team. She was also a teacher representative on the Frisco ISD District Faculty Council and supported instruction through her work as an Instructional Materials Reviewer for the Texas Education Agency.
Mrs. Thomas joined DoDEA in 2019 as an Instructional Coach in Kaiserslautern, Germany, where she was a valued member of the Building Leadership Team. She then joined the Southeast District in 2023 as a 4th-grade teacher and then PK-12 Instructional Systems Specialist at Fort Knox, KY.
Mrs. Thomas has enjoyed being back in the United States, where she and her husband of 28 years are closer to their families and two daughters, who are both college students. She enjoys traveling, the outdoors, and reading as much as possible. Mrs. Thomas believes in DoDEA’s mission to educate, engage, and empower our military-connected students. She is passionate about instruction and believes each student deserves the best learning experience we can provide. She is excited to continue her DoDEA journey as an Assistant Principal at Camp Lejeune.
